What is Strength & Conditioning?
Strength & Conditioning (S&C) is a form of exercise that develops a variety of tools to enhance movement, health and physical performance. S&C is for anyone and everyone interested in exercise and improving their physical capabilities – from an everyday athlete to an elite high-performance athlete. There are two main goals within S&C: to increase performance and to prevent or reduce injuries. This process is done by improving general qualities, such as movement, core strength, posture, stability and balance, as well as the more sport-specific qualities of speed, strength and power.
What is involved in the Strength & Conditioning Sessions?
The sessions are suitable for all levels of athletes, both runners and non-runners. They will aim to develop your posture, balance, and stability and as such help to reduce the risk of injury. The sessions will cover core strength, activation and proprioception, as well as increasing your muscle mass and strength. You don’t have to know what all of this means, just know that it is really good for improving running technique and form.
