When can my child join GCH?
Aged 8 to 18, they can join at any time of year. If they have turned 7 before 1 September, they can join the club when we start back after the summer break (around the time when school starts back – dates will be announced on the Training Times page). If they turn 7 after August, they can join from 1 January the following year.
If your child has been a member of any other club in the last three years, they cannot join GCH without first transferring. In this case, please contact the secretary (secretary.gchjuvenile@gmail.com).
Can we try it out first?
GCH Juvenile do not run trial sessions, but you’re welcome to bring your child/ren along to a training session to watch.
How can my child join the club?
- Go to the Athletics Ireland portal. This system will take you through the steps to apply for membership.
- Send a scan or photo of birth certificate or passport to secretary.gchjuvenile@gmail.com. In that email, please give your permission to be added to the Whatsapp group.
- When the application has been approved, you will receive notification and upon payment, registration will be complete.
- It is very important that you and your child read and understand the Code of Conduct and Membership Rules.
When does membership have to be renewed?
Membership runs for the calendar year. No matter when you join, membership must be renewed at the beginning of each year. Membership renewal usually opens in December.
Do we have to attend every session in the week?
Older age groups have two or three sessions per week, but attending all of them is not required, especially if they clash with other sports. It’s up to you how many you’d like to attend.
How do I find my child’s Athletics Ireland life registration ID number?
You can find this by logging in to the Athletics Ireland portal.
