Juvenile Membership FAQs

When can my child join GCH?

Renewals and registrations for 2024 are now open. Children born in 2016 or earlier can now register for 2024 and attend sessions starting 5th/7th January if the registration process is complete. Please read all of the steps in the ‘How can my child join the club?’ section.

If your child has been a member of any other club in the last three years, they cannot join GCH without first transferring. In this case, please contact the Registrations Secretary (register.gchjuvenile@gmail.com).

Children before 1 September in 2017 will be eligible to join after the summer break, in September 2024. Children born 1 September-31 December 2017 will be eligible to join January 2025.

Can we try it out first?

GCH Juvenile do not run trial sessions, but you’re welcome to bring your child/ren along to a training session to watch.

How can my child join the club?

  1. Go to the Athletics Ireland portal. This system will take you through the steps to apply for membership.
  2. Send a scan or photo of birth certificate or passport to register.gchjuvenile@gmail.com. In that email, please give your permission to be added to the Whatsapp group.
  3. When the application has been approved, you will receive notification and upon payment, registration will be complete.
  4. It is very important that you and your child read and understand the Code of Conduct and Membership Rules.

When does membership have to be renewed?

Membership runs for the calendar year. No matter when you join, membership must be renewed at the beginning of each year. Membership renewal for 2024 needs to be completed before attending training sessions.

Do we have to attend every session in the week?

Older age groups have two or three sessions per week, but attending all of them is not required, especially if they clash with other sports. It’s up to you how many you’d like to attend.

How do I find my child’s Athletics Ireland life registration ID number?

You can find this by logging in to the Athletics Ireland portal.
