Thank you for entering the 2022 Blackrock Health Galway Clinic Streets of Galway 8K, which will take place Saturday 6th August at 7pm. We are delighted to welcome you back to our traditional time and route for this years 36th edition of our famous race, organised by Galway City Harriers.
Race-pack collection times are as follows this year:
- 2pm – 8pm on Friday August 5th
- 9am – 5pm on Saturday August 6th
Please bring along proof of ID/printout email of registration confirmation when collecting your race pack at Race HQ, Claddagh Hall. Your Race pack includes a fantastic technical T-shirt, number and timing chip.

Parking for Pick Up – Parking is available along Grattan Road for a short period for pickup on Friday only. Please follow marshal’s instructions for parking when picking up race numbers.
On Saturday, there is NO PARKING available at Claddagh Hall or Grattan Road, or at GTI – i.e. Start or Finish areas. Do not attempt to park here please.
This is due to race set up areas and necessary restrictions at the end of race route.
On Saturday, city centre parking is available for pickup and the race at the following locations: Cathedral Car Park, Jurys Inn or Hynes Car Park Merchants Road, or in Salthill carparks.
THE RACE
The race starts at 7pm SHARP Saturday 6th August, with the start line located at the Galway Technical Institute, Fr. Griffin Road, Galway. Be on time, the race will not wait! The race routes through Galway City, Salthill and the Claddagh areas of Galway.
Water station – there is a water stop at the 5km mark which is at Pearse Stadium.
Finish – the finish is 100 metres into South Park just off Grattan Road where there is water and bananas available here for all as part of your race entry.
Please be at the start line by 6.45pm to ensure you are in position. Toilets are at Start and Finish areas. There are no bag drops or changing areas. Please obey marshals instructions and respect residents in the area.
Prizes will be given on the line for Top 3 male and female finishers. Other prizes at the Hall at 8.15 pm – Top 10 prizes and winners in M40, 45, 50, 55 ,60, 65 and 70 – Male and Female.
Please note the following restrictions which we have to follow for safety and insurance reasons:
No Under 16’s may take part, no bicycles, wheeled vehicles or buggies are allowed on the course. No headphones or pets allowed.
